Larriot is a young Liger (tiger & lion hybrid) who is living in a village of lions. I bought this book for my niece who just started reading and she loved it! The illustrations are truly unique and the story has a great message.
My 5 yr. old grand daughter has loved this book since she was four. She know it by heart and every time we read it together, it puts a big smile on our face.
The book is great fun!!! It is well worth the buy just for the innovation. The art work is great as well.
The story line is engaging for a topic that needs lots of attention. A fun read for kids. I addressed the same issue in my book...another angle.

Growing up isn't easy. In fact, it can be down right hard if you're a little awkard. I remember when I was a lanky eight year old with a huge over bite and resembled something between a toothpick and a rabbit. Lord knows I heard it enough. And a great little book like this sure would have helped if someone would have read it to me. It takes on a pretty tough subject in a very tactful and colorful way and delivers a heck of a powerful message different is good! Kids seem to be in a tricky place these days. And not enough positive messages seem to get through to them. I sure hope this one does. It's presented beautifuly.
This book seems to combine everything kids love. Bright, beautiful illustrations, crazy hybrid animals with matching cute names, a fun adventure story that rhymes and a happy ending with an anti-bullying and self esteem message to boot! The last pages are especially fun where kids can dream up their own hybrid animals and learn more about ligers (they are real!) and other existing hybrids. My son just adores this book and so do I! I just wish there were more books of this quality out there!
I have purchased three copies of this book so far. It is a really great story with a wonderful message. Illustrations are so colorful and enchanting. Love it.
